VIT Uruguay and Brazil
Program summary:
In Uruguay:
• Technical visits: In Uruguay, nine wine estates of varying sizes were visited, all of which are committed to producing more sustainably and adapting their techniques and equipment.
• Professional meetings: INAVI scheduled meetings with three equipment distributors at each company’s headquarters. The delegation was also received by the French ambassador to Uruguay.
• Networking event: In Uruguay, the delegation was able to participate in the official launch of the roadmap for sustainable viticulture in Uruguay, promoted by INAVI (National Institute of Viticulture), which brought together producers and authorities at the local and national levels.
• Technical conference: at the request of INAVI, an expert in agricultural machinery from the New Aquitaine Chamber of Agriculture gave a technical conference on the adaptation of agricultural machinery to sustainable production.
In Brazil:
· Technical visits: 13 wineries were visited, most of which produced sparkling wines for the local market, as still wines were mostly exported.
· Professional meetings: meetings were organized for Infaco and Biopythos with three distributors.
Continuation of cooperation:
– Follow-up with Brazilian and Uruguayan professionals to organize delegations for Vinitech-Sifel 2026.
– Cooperation with INAVI should continue and lead to a collaboration agreement with Interco to continue exchanging knowledge on the following topics: treatment modeling, mechanization, resistant varieties, appellation systems and protected geographical indications, and wine tourism.
